Lex Machina is the world leader in legal analytics and we are transforming the business and practice of law. We're rapidly growing and have a need for a Sales Director in the Houston, TX or Los Angeles, CA areas.

  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
  • Develop detailed strategic sales plans to grow business within assigned accounts or territory
  • Identify and qualify opportunities, develop a pipeline of viable opportunities and effectively manage the pipeline with the account team, including timely follow up of all leads and advancing leads through the selling process to close
  • Provide accurate forecasts, customer, competitive and market intelligence to management and business leadership
  • Understand and demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Lex Machina products, content and solutions including the ability to articulate competitive differentiators and sell our VALUE



  • Bachelor's Degree - (JD Preferred)
  • Minimum 6 years proven experience generating new business sales, in a business to business environment
  • Self-driven, motivated, inspired and results oriented with new business sales (or hunter) mentality
  • Strong new business prospecting, selling, negotiating and closing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to an executive-level audience
  • Ability to effectively partner and collaborate across teams
  • Strong understanding and use of Value Based Selling 
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
