Elsevier’s data (such as customer records, product metadata, sales and marketing information, financial data, supplier records, and material masters) reside in 100+ systems, presenting unique challenges in defining and implementing common standards for quality and protection, as well as in maintaining clear and linked ownership for managing data. Process and system efficiencies combined with high levels of data quality and the ability to analyse the data fully and efficiently across the company are essential to the continued success of our company. 

Elsevier has created a Data & Analytics organisation to define and operationalize the vision on data management and advanced analytics across all of Elsevier’s business units.  Within this organisation, we seek a Project Coordinator. The position will support the Data & Analytics Organization by ensuring activities and reporting on our projects are planned efficiently and coordinated well. 

The Project Coordinator can be in Amsterdam or London

The right candidate will have a strong track record of working with globally dispersed teams on strategic initiatives and will work closely with the Director of Data Management and his direct reports to ensure that the department functions as efficiently as possible across a diverse set of demands. 


Your responsibilities:


  • Own the departmental reporting responsibilities ensuring that all reports and reporting tools provide up-to-date and accurate information to the senior management teams.
  • Schedule and take minutes at meetings as required.
  • Review existing processes and provide suggestions to improve efficiency and value.
  • Produce documentation as required.
  • Coordinate travel and logistical arrangements for all resources.
  • Act as a secondary point of contact to team members.
  • Provide executive support as required.
  • Take ownership of small-medium scale initiatives that don't require a dedicated Project Manager. Track budgets, tasks and lead communications with the client.
  • Support the management and reporting of operational budgets.  
  • Respond to status and information requests from other business departments.
  • Share information with other Coordinators and provide/receive assistance with workload as required.


What you should bring:

  • 5+ years of project co-ordination or Executive Assistant experience
  • Degree or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Cooperative and a team player who easily gains trust and support of peers and senior management 
  • Ability to build effective working relationships/network with users and stakeholders
  • Understands cultural differences with the ability to interact appropriately with stakeholders across the globe
  • Analytical, numerate and technical mindset and innovative thinker mentality
  • Customer-service driven and keen understanding of customer needs and expectations
  • Willingness to travel
