Paralegal – Must have Scots law experience

Main purpose of the role:

Our LexisPSL team is looking for a paralegal with experience of Scots law to support the team delivering practical guidance, know-how materials, news and industry guidance relating to Scotland for the legal sector.  


The main duties and responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Working closely with and assisting the PSL, Content Acquisition and Editorial teams responsible for creating and maintaining Scottish practical guidance content for LexisPSL.

  • Developing strong relationships with external panels of Scottish experts to facilitate timely delivery of content and adherence to the maintenance and review policy.

  • Reviewing all new Scottish content and updates to existing content to ensure that it meets business and customer expectations.

  • Amending and maintaining documents to reflect Scottish legal developments in line with business and customer expectations (subject to PSL and Panel approval).

  • Monitoring Scottish news sources and tracking legislation and case law to identify key developments and ensure appropriate treatment in LexisPSL.

  • Maintaining Scottish roadmaps for content development.

  • Maintaining the Scotland Toolkit.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Scots law (degree level or Scots qualified paralegal preferable)

  • Very strong attention to detail

  • Sound technology skills (preferably with fluency in Excel, Word, and social media portals)

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Excellent command of written English

  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively

  • Ability to work both in a team and independently

  • The ability to be creative, innovative and to spot opportunities 

  • Ability to deal with stakeholders at every level, including lawyers, external contributors, customers, sales managers etc.

  • Experience of one or more of LN key Scottish practice areas (Scottish Civil Litigation / Property / Corporate Crime / Private Client / Restructuring & Insolvency) is highly desirable but not essential.
