Main duties and responsibilities:
 
Legal research and drafting
Developing legal knowledge and expertise in the relevant areas
Monitoring sources for new policy, legislation, legal developments and hot topics, summarising and assimilating news stories, assisting with the production of highlights and bulletins and updating relevant tools, trackers and timelines
Drafting, maintaining, reviewing and enhancing practical guidance documents to reflect legal and market developments in line with customer expectations
Writing in XML and working with the designated content management and editorial systems
Helping to respond to customer queries and address customer feedback
Tracking changes and trends in the legal market for the relevant practice areas 
Taking a proactive role in the development of the team’s marketing and social media presence
Collaborating with the PSL teams and working groups, supporting best practice development, sharing expertise and identifying potential business/product opportunities
Liaising with internal partners, including PSLs, current awareness, editors, law reporters, commissioning developers, sales, marketing, webinars, product developers and working  groups
Liaising with external contributors, including authors, expert panels and consultant editorial boards
Networking at seminars and events, and assisting sales and marketing teams when required
 

 

 

Required knowledge/skills:
 
Academic qualifications and experience
Excellent academic qualifications. Comprehensive understanding of the law (degree level essential, LPC/BPTC qualification or equivalent desirable).
 
Knowledge and skills
Strong legal research, analysis and writing. Sound technology skills (preferably with fluency in Excel and Word, plus an ability to adapt to new software and systems).
 
Communication
Very strong attention to detail, communication and command of written English[NH(1] . Ability to undertake legal research and communicate findings clearly.
 
Organisation
Excellent organisation and time management. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly, balancing competing priorities. Natural common sense.
 
Team success
Ability to work both independently and in a team. Keen to make an active contribution to the success of the PSL team and the overall objectives of legal markets.
