The role:

The UK Marketing Manager will be responsible for achieving the EMEA & APAC regions marketing goals. Using their knowledge of the segment, products and competition, develop a strong marketing strategy and tactical plan that provides the greatest opportunity for awareness, leads and new billings.


This role will need to develop a strong relationship with the Sales team they partner with, and provide tangible ROI to the business in the form of agreed upon metrics. This role will also be responsible for managing the budget associated with this region/market segment. Digital marketing, including SEO, PPC and email marketing, is critical to this role, so strong experience and knowledge is needed in order to attain the growth expected of this area. Due to the nature of the news business, flexibility in work hours, attention to detail/accuracy and speed to market are necessary.


Key Responsibilities of the Role Include:

  • Development of EMA & APAC marketing strategies and tactical plans for law firm and corporate markets, based on the needs of the business and market attributes.

  • Must be able to create a marketing plan that includes clear strategies, expected lead, deal and billings contributions, timeline of tactics, allocation of budget required and other supporting material as needed.

  • Plan should include all aspects of the marketing mix, including web/SEO, email, events, PPC, PR and sales support.

  • Execution of marketing tactics within the plan, in order to attain the lead, deal and billings goals set for the region.

  • Strong execution of plan tactics, mostly independently with consultation and approvals from the Director as needed and external support by agency resources as agreed to in the plan.

  • Ability to also deliver on ad hoc requests from Editorial, Sales or Commercial team.

  • Regular reporting of results (ie: open rates, web traffic, lead volume, lead conversion, ROI analysis) to the business, including YOY metrics and recommended actions for improvement.

  • Demonstrated ability to measure, report on and interpret results in order to ensure the ability to provide quantifiable value to the business. Equally important is the ability to use that data to improve results. Results will be pulled from Pardot, Salesforce and Google Analytics—and other tools as deemed necessary.

  • Management of marketing budget

  • Detailed tracking of all marketing expenses incurred as part of the plan, including tracking of reporting on the Finance reports to ensure all charges are accounted for.

  • Manage expenses without exceeding the yearly budget and using best judgment to spend with ROI in mind.

  • Strong partnership with Sales team and other stakeholders, with demonstrated value and support of their needs.

  • Includes regular meetings with stakeholders to determine needs and communicate upcoming activities/results.

Skills needed:

  • B2B Marketing experience with direct responsibilities including SEO, PPC, Email Marketing, Events Marketing and PR—including management of the associated budget for these activities.

  • Proven experience independently developing and executing a marketing plan for multiple products/markets within the geographical area(s) of responsibility.

  • Advanced Pardot knowledge, including hands on experience in list loading, email development, deployment, reporting and Salesforce integration.  

  • Advanced Salesforce knowledge, including hands on experience in creating campaigns, reports and other items needed to ensure strong integration of marketing leads for Sales and visibility of leads through the entire sales funnel (from lead creation to close).

  • Intermediate digital marketing experience and knowledge of SEO and PPC fundamentals, including direct experience implementing or managing SEO and PPC initiatives.

  • Intermediate print and web design capabilities. Marketing manager will be responsible for web site maintenance and creation of web pages, landing pages, email templates and print materials.
