An exciting opportunity exists at Cell Press for a creative, motivated and highly organized Marketing Coordinator. Working at the heart of the marketing and communications team, you will be exposed to all elements of the strategic marketing activities at this world renowned, premium brand market leader in scientific publishing.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will help meet our challenging objectives to grow existing journals,  increase the global subscriber base, drive media coverage for content, build customer insights, support our expanding commercial product line including the Cell Symposia conference series, and launch a rapidly expanding portfolio of journals in life, physical, and earth sciences. Your responsibilities will include supporting a broad range of digital marketing activities, including content management for marketing webpages, maintenance of the Cell Press marketing database, email distribution, and social media content management.

You will provide analytics to support the global subscription expansion program, and support the PR and media activities, new launches, and our premium conference series. Cell Press content benefits from exposure at scientific conferences globally, and you will be required to manage the distribution of collateral to  and support digital marketing initiatives in association with these meetings, in addition to coordinating sponsorship activities at meetings where we do not have a physical presence.

A flexible team player and strong communicator, you will need to be comfortable interacting at all levels within the organization. You will be required to work across multiple internal departments including editorial, commercial sales, product, operations, and production. Outside Cell Press you will work across other marketing, sales, and publishing groups. Occasionally you will be required to work collaboratively with relevant groups across Elsevier to develop and implement best practice, leverage learning and develop shared solutions.

You will gain exposure to the financial management of the marketing budget and assist with budget preparation, vendor liaison, and monthly cost tracking. As Marketing Coordinator you will maintain contacts with relevant centralized Marketing Services departments about production of marketing tools, data, tracking information, and logistics of exhibits.

The Marketing Coordinator will be required to provide general support to the department as required, including the production of reports and presentations, e.g. digital campaign statistics, market research, web usage and others for internal and external communication.

Educated to degree level, some experience in a marketing, communications, or publishing environment is desirable. You will have foundational knowledge of digital/web marketing, and social media techniques. As a strong all-round communicator, you should be comfortable in dealing with individuals at all levels. You should be able to work on own initiative and be goal oriented.
