Job Summary:

Reed Exhibitions has a small market research team of 5 people (Director, 3 analysts, programmer) on staff full time to deliver the customer research needs that the business demands.  The Research group works with the individual events teams to design, program, deploy and analyze the results.  The insights identified are provided to the teams in the form of a powerpoint deck. 

The work consists of these types of work:

·  Quantitative- primarily online surveys.  (80% of work) The biggest workload for the team is designing and reporting for the post-show surveys, which measure customer satisfaction, loyalty, NPS and need to attend/exhibit.  Additional information is also gathered in the post-show surveys around the event performance and customer sentiment.  About 70 % of the survey work is standard questions that are consistent across events, and about 30% is custom-designed for individual events.

o   Additional quantitative work is done as “custom surveys”- these are performed on an “as needed” basis to accomplish something specific around a show team’s concerns or area of opportunity.

o   All RX survey work uses the Vovici (Verint) platform


Additional Job Description Information:

Responsible for the development, deployment and monitoring of all Customer Insights and research survey’s executed for the Reed Exhibitions North American portfolio of events. While working closely with each individual show team to deliver post event and ad hoc survey’s to identify customer insights, measure key metrics and evaluate customer behavior so event teams can identify critical trends and develop strategies and programs to drive increase in satisfaction, a more effective customer experience and drive growth

·         Ability to collaborate, facilitate, consult, partner and influence; supporting senior management, show teams, and all operational departments of the organization

·        Ability to translate data and insight into actions for the business to capitalize on

·         A never-ending curiosity about the world around us and the ability to design the right methodologies and tests to support the needs of the business

·         The ability to work with team members in the US to manage and fulfill all of the research needs within the organization [Qualitative and Quantitative] including Customer Satisfaction work, marketing support and new product development

·        Creative and high-energy with a drive to build capability, innovate, and deliver results


Accountabilities:

3-5 years of experience in Strategic Marketing, Market Research, Consumer Insights, Research, and / or strategic marketing consulting / agency. 

o   Should be familiar with questionnaire / moderator guide design and have sampling knowledge

·    An understanding of advertising and marketing strategy and a commitment to strategic analysis, developing key insights, and providing recommendations to event teams on performance, strategy, plans, positioning and business decisions

·    Strong project management experience.  This includes defining research or learning objectives, designing the methodology, conducting the research and analyzing the research to provide strategic guidance to the show teams and overall Reed Exhibitions management.

o   Should have a strong operational background when dealing with data collection and research overall; with heavy volume of research, operational efficiencies will consistently need to be identified and implemented.

·    Ability to work across various industry segments.  B2B experience is an asset. 

·    Expert ability to analyze & synthesize large volumes of information into key insights and recommendations that will improve business results.  Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to turn results into actionable plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage one’s time
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to manage demands on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience at working independently and within a team collaboration environment
  • Ability to learn new transaction processes quickly
  • Ability to provide information to customers in a clear, concise, courteous, polite and professional manner
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience with analytical programs like SAS, R or SPSS a plus
  • Survey design and quality assurance experience a plus
  • Java script experience, HTML experience a plus including exposure to an html editor such as DreamWeaver, KompoZer, CoffeeCup, etc, a plus
  • Exposure to survey programming platforms like Vovici EFM (Verint), Survey Monkey, Confirmit, etc.
  • Exposure to SPSS and/or other data tabulation software a plus
