RES001EQ Requisition #

Scopus aspires to help the world of research make better decisions with confidence. We support our key stakeholders - such as researchers, institutions and funders - through data and a platform that addresses their high-value needs. Published content, and the entities and relationships derived from it, are core to this capability. The engagement of the research community with our author and institutional profiles offers value to those individuals and institutions (for showcasing and assessment) as well as offers value to the wider community by strengthening the fidelity of the Scopus linked data fueling use cases throughout the research world.

We are looking for a creative, technical, analytical and ambitious individual with a strong personal drive to contribute to the further growth and professionalization of our user feedback channels. The role will contribute directly to the Scopus goals by optimizing our ability to feed Scopus with the broadest, most correct and meaningful user-reported information about any author or institution.

This role will act as the single point of accountability for our end-to-end “curation channels” (crowd sourcing information about authors and organizations and integrating that information in the Scopus dataset).  From the web interface (author feedback wizard and institutional feedback wizard) where claims about author and organizational profiles are made to the MHub / data platform, this role will be responsible for defining the priorities for this core capability, drafting the road-map of initiatives and managing the backlog of activities. This includes cross-functional leadership, interfacing with the front-end development squad and the back-end teams for each feedback wizard.

Key areas of responsibility include:

-  Maintaining a high standard of the present capabilities.

- Develop a solid understanding of customer use cases and a sense for where      the market is heading, through close contact with customers.

- Provide the vision and road-map the “curation channels” for author and         institutional profiles. Align this with business strategy and get buy in from the

business.

- Deliver on the identified priorities by driving seamless collaboration between      cross-functional teams within the Elsevier and with partners.

- Align/coach team members to ensure customer needs are met. Develop team    members, through coaching, mentoring, etc.

Where it makes sense - in terms of priority and execution - the scope of the        role can be expanded to incorporate other aspects of the platform or app portfolio that is dependent on Scopus data.

- PhD in a technical subject is preferred, but not essential. MBA or management degree desirable but not required.

- 4 to 6+ year experience in product and/ or project management including ownership and success in

leading the release of products features as well post-release management.

- Experience developing deep customer relationships that drive meaningful dialogue about the future direction of a product.

- Solid and proven analytical skills, combining strong eye for details with a good holistic view.

- Passion for analyzing big data and an understanding of bibliometrics or scientometrics.

- Fluency in English
