For our LexisNexis organization in Leiden (The Netherlands) we are looking for a Lead Solution Architect who will chair the team of solution architects and help define a cross product, language and technology architecture for our IP product suite. The position communicates/evangelizes the architecture (principles, policies, standards, and patterns) to development groups, business groups, and customers. You will facilitate the reuse of ideas, components, services, and proven patterns across various solutions in the portfolio. You will work with business stakeholders, Tech Leads and Development Teams to implement technology initiatives across the entire product portfolio. You rely on continuous feedback, promote adaptive design and engineering practices and drive programs and teams to unify around a common technical vision. You have a pragmatic approach and a hands-on mentality

Experience:

·         10+ years of experience in software, network, or systems architecture.

·         5+ years of cross-entity product architecture experience with proven track record of successful enterprise impacts.

·         Bachelor/Master (HBO/WO) level of working and thinking with a technical background.

Responsibilities:

·         Communicate complicated technology concepts to stakeholders in a manner that is understandable in terms of business impact so that business decisions can be made.

·         Perform technical evaluations of new technology and acquisition candidates as required.

·         Finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems.

·         Chair the team of solution architects and train/support the development teams.

·         Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and explore solution alternatives.

·         Establish critical non-functional requirements at the solution level, participate in the definition of others.

·         Plan and develop the Architectural Runway in support of new business features and capabilities.

·         We are a small organization, hands on mentality and development is also part of the job.

Technical Skills:

·         Master level in architectural design; master-level knowledge of architectural governance.

·         Strong understanding of programming languages, code, and database.

·         Master-level knowledge of programming language(s) and frameworks; e.g., .Net, Java, Spring, HTML5, CSS3, Angular, C#, etc.

·         Innovative and solutions-oriented in new technologies, security, and infrastructure.

·         Excellent problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.

·         Strong research skills.

·         Organizational awareness

·         Work collaboratively

·         Excellent influence and negotiation skills

·         Creative thinking and problem solving

The role is broad and challenging, which requires at least 10 years of experience in the field, leadership experience is useful. An assessment will be part of the procedure.
