We are hiring a Junior Business Analyst to be part of our small, but highly skilled Business Analytics team. The team is responsible for shaping and delivering the building blocks for organizing and executing analytics throughout Elsevier. In addition, we are mandated to grow our internal analytics community, assist in the delivery of analytical projects and provide training on our centrally supported tools (currently Tableau and Knime).

This is a challenging role for an analytical mind who also wants to develop both business facing consultancy skills together with technical expertise in analytical tools. If you feel this is you, please apply!

You will be responsible for:
  • Helping us to build a global analytics community in Elsevier
  • Raising analytical maturity of Elsevier by supporting analysts in their daily work utilizing tools such as Knime and Tableau. In the future tools such as Python, R and AI and Machine Learning tools are likely to be added to our portfolio
  • Working in analytics projects across various business units in Elsevier
An ideal candidate has:
  • A minimum of a BS or BA degree. (BS in Mathematics, Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering or Statistics is ideal.)
  • 2+ years experience in analytics or a client-facing consultancy role
  • Experience with data visualization tools, especially Tableau.
  • Experience of data integration tools such as Knime would be an advantage
  • Experience of SQL, R, Python, Databricks would be an advantage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact appropriately with both business and technical stakeholders at all levels
  • An analytical, inquisitive mind
  • Likes to work with data
  • Is a teacher that is happy to help others achieve their analytical goals.
  • Is a self starter and is continuously looking for self improvement opportunities.
