Description: Human Resources Business Partner

 

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to partner with managers and supervisors to implement Human Resources (HR) strategies that will enable the achievement of Organisational goals. The role holder will be responsible for implementing the LNSA HR plans that will facilitate LexisNexis SA to attract, develop and retain staff. Key Performance Objectives for the HR Business Partner are Recruitment, Induction & Comprehensive Onboarding plans, Talent Management & Organisational Development, Human Resources Operations and Legislative Compliance as well as Performance Management.

 

Key Performance Objectives

 

Business strategy

  • Ensure alignment of Human Resources plans to divisional strategy and objectives
  • Use analytics, data and trends to diagnose management issues and guide management teams and employees on fit for purpose solutions
  • Support the division in the achievement of BBBEE goals


Talent and Organizational Development

  • Implement the LNSA talent strategy by driving talent attraction, development and retention plans for the divisions
  • Support managers to develop and lift employee capability in line with Organisational and department requirements
  • Support communication of  Talent and OD initiatives throughout the business and ensure adherence to the Talent calendar
  • Support the Personal Development Process (PDP)  to ensure PDPs are completed for all employees and within defined timeframes and completion standards
  • Identify and address performance management training and support requirements


Labour Relations

  • Negotiate with employee representative groups and manage relationships in accordance with Organisational goals, existing agreements and the legislation
  • Provide line managers with industrial relations support  to facilitate a conducive environment

 

Engagement and Culture

  • Support company culture by diagnosing  current and desired states, gaps and actions
  • Support business in driving and communicating culture surveys and relevant actions


Performance Management

  • Support the PDP process to ensure PDPs are completed for all employees and within defined timeframes and completion standards
  • Identify and address performance management training and support requirements


HR Operations and Roadmap

  • Implement HR Roadmap initiatives according to defined timeframes
  • Provide input into HR MIR (monthly indicator reports)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources Management (ideally)
  • Relevant Honours Degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years’ working experience in generalist  HR positions
  • Understanding of employment law, occupational health & safety and Labour relations
