The Financial Analyst will provide expertise for revenue or cost analytics across LexisNexis and provide deep subject matter expertise on BI functionality and data structures to optimise performance and maintain the integrity of the data. As a member of the Global Reporting, Planning and Analysis (GRPA) team based in Dayton, the role will be responsible for providing analytics support and investigation to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and monthly reporting of revenue. The position reports directly to the Director of Revenue or Director of Cost and has frequent interactions with LexisNexis business units? Finance Directors and Finance teams to provide analytical support to help Finance team members and business stakeholders make informed decision to drive improved business performance. 1. Investigate and review underlying data to provide insight for input to commentaries/insights based on available information on trends and variances. 2. Collate and investigate data to identify and determine trends and assess outcomes of sales and marketing growth initiatives to support the business assumptions for sales and revenue.

3. Build and sustain a robust knowledge of financial processes, revenue drivers, metrics and dynamics across a couple of areas including: Online, Segment, Print, Content, Software

4. Load data to planning tools and finalize the Hyperion submission

5. Support preparation of budget presentation material

6. Proactively investigate performance through analytics

7. Respond to adhoc requests for analytics, through the agreed demand management framework, to provide support for product profitability, business case preparation and investigation into financial performance

8. Interpret user requests for analytics and data into technical report specifications and liaise with the systems team on user requirements

9. Provide BI related advice to users in the CoE and BDS team and manage and deliver training and updates to meet changes in business needs or to communicate changes in business structures

10. Promote teamwork and a collaborative environment within the COE and across the Finance function Business Decision Support and SSC.

11. Manage activities within the internal control policy framework.

12. Maintain knowledge of data structures through the governance process

13. Support the annual audits.

14. Follow internal controls and procedures to comply data integrity and consistency.

15. Maintain GRPA internal relations network and SSC relationships to deliver quality service on time


1. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with Finance concentration. Knowledge of financial and management accounting, process and systems.

2. Experience in a financial role or Finance support role and an understanding of the revenue or cost metrics and reporting working in a global organisation (preferred).

3. Experience of achieving results in an international environment, in a centralised function working through regular interactions by email, phone or video conference with appreciation of differences in culture, time zones and legal frameworks (preferred).

4. Experience working in a Finance team through a period of significant change (preferred).

5. 1-3 years of finance or accounting experience, or equivalent. Experience in LexisNexis /Industry comparator (preferred).

6. Financial skills: technical analytical skills including trend, variance and profitability analysis. 7. Accounting skills: accounting policies and standards for revenue/cost and management accounting techniques (preferred). 8. Business skills: Robust knowledge of financial processes, revenue drivers and dynamics for two or more businesses/industries that may comprise Online, Segment, Print, Content, Software 9. System knowledge: BI, Excel (advanced level), PowerPoint, Hyperion, Peoplesoft, fulfilment systems. Understanding of BI data structures and functionalities (preferred). 10. Continuous improvement: ability to act as a change agent, identifying areas of opportunity in an established process and executing improvements 11. Languages: strong communication skills (verbal and written) 12. Competencies - personal drive, interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, drives change and continuous improvement, results oriented

Upon acceptance of this role, the selected internal candidate will be required to sign an updated Non-Competition Agreement or Non-Solicitation and Non-Disclosure Agreement as a condition of continued employment.
