ABOUT PARIS PHOTO NEW YORK

Paris Photo, the world’s largest international art fair dedicated to the photographic medium, is happy to announce the launch of Paris Photo New York April 2-5, 2020. 


Presented with the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD), the new fair will create a transatlantic hub between the two historic centers for photography – Paris and New York thus forming a collective voice and international reference for the photographic medium. 


The new fair will capitalize on the strength of the American photography market by expanding and diversifying the fair’s representation of international and cutting-edge galleries and invigorating the community of curators and art professionals throughout the Americas and beyond. 


Drawing from the city’s thriving arts scene and rich network of museums and organizations, the New York edition will highlight their indelible impact on the history of the medium and the recognition of its artists. Invited guest curators will organize programming, including exhibitions, conversations, to connect international leaders in the field and advance the understanding and appreciation of fine art photography. 

 

 

Job Summary:

 

The Event Manager for Paris Photo New York will work in close partnership with the Paris Photo Director and the Reed U.S. teams to execute on the following:

 

  • Serve as the project manager for all aspects of Paris Photo New York, in coordination with the teams, including the general installation of the show

  • Establish role clarity for all team members in Reed US

  • Maintain and share records of all event-related agreements

  • Negotiate and execute contracts with independent contractors and external vendors, if needed

  • Manage relationships with independent contractors, if needed

  • Manage specific events to be held during the show

  • Operational support and implementation of the programming of the show

  • Liaise with the fair and Education committees to support event planning and develop educational programming

    • Schedule meetings, circulate agendas, provide updates, and facilitate discussions

  • Supervise and follow-up marketing, and communications collateral, including onsite signage production and printing

  • Minimum 3 years experience in event management
  • Previous experience in events organization and/or project management
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Networking aptitude, dynamic and proactive
  • Great multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Passionate about art
