Elsevier Clinical Solutions is looking for a Director, Digital Content Authoring Programs to join our Digital Content team. You will play a crucial role in driving change within our organization- and across Elsevier- aligning disparate content creation processes, gathering and prioritizing technology needs, inspiring innovation and efficiencies, and helping to transform digital content into a strategic engine of the company.  

You will work closely with our content authoring product manager to serve as a single voice for digital content’s needs for authoring, editing and delivering content.  You will work side-by-side with the Sr. Director of Operational Transformation & Innovation to lead the development of the end-to-end digital content strategy for technology needs, roadmap and define success for the group.  You will work closely with stakeholder groups within Clinical Solutions- Product, Informatics, Technology and Commercial- to support our overall goals, and interface with Elsevier teams, such as our Journals and Education, Reference and Continuity businesses.

Your goal is to drive change across our organization, to optimize content creation processes across content groups and enable us to exploit the potential of technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. You must exhibit a deep understanding of how our content creates value for our customers and identify opportunities for synergies.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Operational Transformation & Innovation for the Digital Content group.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as single voice for authoring platforms for Clinical Solutions Digital Content (e.g., ACRES, GSDD, IDS editorial tools) and prioritize requirements across the teams
Gain a deep understanding of the authoring needs across all the Digital Content teams and content types, including global market needs
Develop a prioritization framework to inform a roadmap for execution.  Where needed, help lead the design of business cases or justifications for funding.
Identify, align and provide oversight to key transformation programs within Digital Content
Design and execute operational improvement efforts; identify strategic areas of overlap and opportunities for improvement across Clinical Solutions editorial teams 
Foster greater collaboration across other content teams within Elsevier (ERC, NHE, Research, Operations)
Identify how we can build content leveraging technology such as machine learning and artificial intelligence 
Define and track metrics for success
Build strong relationships across with Clinical and Editorial teams


Required qualifications
Experience in digital content development Evidence of success as an agent of change
Experience working in cross-functional teams 
Process improvement experience and Lean Six Sigma preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Strong strategic perspective
Results oriented
Entrepreneurial skills and good in driving progress of new initiatives
Travel required, approx. 10-20%
