Delegate Sales Manager, ICIS Events

The role


The delegate sales manager will lead a team of five delegate sales executives based in London and Singapore. You and the team will be selling delegate places to chemical industry professionals across our global portfolio of conferences and training courses. You’ll be used to working in a culture of high performance, leading by example, to hire, develop and coach the best talent. Working in a collaborative and fast paced environment, you will have a track record of over-target performance.

You’ll work closely with other departments and be accountable for a significant proportion of revenue, including your own sales quota. You’ll do this by determining how much time we sell on each event, supporting your team to effectively manage pipelines, handle objections, sales skills and techniques. You’ll be accurate, able to forecast and able to manage multiple projects.

You will be given the tools and autonomy to do your job, and we will help support you to develop your knowledge of the markets we serve, and our fantastic events.

The role is based in our London office.

Key responsibilities:

Day to day management and motivation of the delegate sales executives, celebrating success and drive activity.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of accurate delegate revenue numbers sold by team

  • Sell delegate places in order to deliver revenue, yield, target and call rates

  • Consistently meet and exceed sales activity targets both on an individual and team level

  • Liaise effectively with all internal departments (sponsorship, production, marketing, registration, operations)

  • Keep accurate records of delegate bookings and documentation of all sales

  • Liaise with Marketing Director to ensure they are made aware of any events that are under or over booking

  • Calculate monthly commissions for delegate sales team

  • Recruitment and retention of quality staff who are both excellent brand ambassadors and have the core characteristics of exceptional sales people
