Our Software Services Team provide first class support and training services to our large and varied customer base.    Working alongside our dedicated training team, carrying out high-level training services either face to face at customer’s premises, in small groups or online.   You will be dealing directly with our customers, all of whom are users of our market-leading specialist financial and agricultural management software.  Our software is used by farmers, estate managers, accountants and rural business owners to help meet compliance, business management and enterprise performance, across all livestock, cropping and diversified farming activities. 


Farmplan head office is in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, however we also have support and training teams based at our offices in Norfolk and West Sussex.  Working at Farmplan is dynamic, exciting and not without its share of challenges. We have a can-do culture but maintain a small company approach to success.

You will have plenty of opportunities to learn things that are not listed in this job description, but we’ve done our best to describe below what is involved in this role.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Software Services Team in full-time positions in the role of Customer Service Advisor/Trainer based at our offices in Herefordshire, Norfolk or West Sussex.


The responsibilities of the Customer Services Advisor include:

Working alongside colleagues sharing experience and knowledge to provide our customers with a high level of support via phone, email and online.

Gaining detailed knowledge or our brand, customers and products along with keeping up to date with industry changes

Collaborating across the business to deliver effective support and training services for our customers.

Providing customer training activities either online or on-site as required

Communicating effectively with colleagues and customers across the business


If you’re right for this role, you will:

Be passionate about delivering excellent customer service

Exhibit self-motivation, efficiency and team working

Have strong oral and written communication skills

Have a good numeracy and IT skills

Have fine attention to detail especially when working under pressure and good time management skills

Enjoy working within a busy department and bring new ideas to help the team achieve their goals

Be inquisitive and proactive – showing an appetite to problem solve, demonstrate ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Show aptitude for learning and developing new skills

Demonstrate customer awareness, ability to be objective with excellent listening skills when engaging with our customers to fully understand their needs

An understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles would be an advantage as would an interest and general knowledge of agriculture but neither essential as full training will be given

Be comfortable working across teams in different locations, be prepared to visit each of our UK offices

Be prepared to travel within the UK to carry out customer training as required
