  • Work with the legal team and business team members, and in particular sales and technology, to draft or respond to contract proposals, support negotiation and manage contract review and approval processes.
  • Negotiate the terms of standard commercial agreements with existing and prospective customers, vendors and partners.
  • Work with commercial teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products, services and the documentation requirements to draft and consolidate contracts.
  • Serve as liaison between legal, sales, services, customer and business leadership to manage negotiation responses, contract approvals and related matters.
  • Create and maintain the management and storage of contract templates and agreements.
  • Outline and drive standardisation in key negotiation clauses to provide approved “library” of business responses for frequently negotiated points.
  • Contribute to the Contract Management Strategy involving stakeholder engagement, commercial and contract strategy development, business and strategic objectives.
  • Lead on contract negotiations and strategy including managing risks outside the baseline and managing the obligations to our customers.
  • Managing contract data points and tracking baseline standards against exceptions as well as seeking opportunities in the data.
  • Identify process efficiencies and define solutions for operational effectiveness of legal processes.
  • Focus on the minimisation of contract cycle times.


The role will report into the Accuity General Counsel / Legal Business Partner


  • Common law jurisdiction legal qualification (desirable)
  • LLB, LPC or LLM (desirable).
  • 5 + years professional experience in contract management or related legal support functions.
  • 2+ years of experience in contract negotiation or drafting in the software/services industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex contractual details and their commercial environment.
  • Experience of working in an international environment, preferably in or with a matrixed multi-national organisation.
  • A collaborative attitude, building strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • A genuine interest in new technologies and innovation.
  • Able to drive projects to a conclusion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills. 
  • Good decision-making ability.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with business unit corporate staff and all external contacts.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong integrity and business ethics.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines, resilient and calm under pressure
  • International and cross border experience would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to navigate a complex multinational organization with multiple stakeholder groups.
