The Commercial Manager is responsible for advising, developing and supporting the roll out of commercial strategies in North America.  The focus is on market opportunity identification / quantification, go-to-market planning and strategy, customer migration strategy, and ongoing business development for the portfolio of products in the physician space.

 

The Commercial Manager maintains close relationships with the market and leads the way in the identification and realization of attractive growth opportunities, both organic and inorganic. This means they must have a keen understanding of the healthcare market and a data-driven approach to quantifying opportunities, addressable market and white space.  They also ensure and support delivery against the financial targets defined for clinical solutions via business case preparation, strategic analysis, and internal/external relationship management. This role will work in close collaboration with the commercial directors in the physician portfolio as well as the sales, marketing, product, pricing, digital content and informatics teams.

 

This position reports to the VP Commercial, Physician Portfolio.

 

Key responsibilities:

Define relevant product markets relevant to the physician portfolio and be an expert in data management

Analyze market / customer segments to actively pursue and perform market sizing

Develop customer-centric view of market needs; keep a close eye on emerging technologies and trends

Become a market expert with in-depth knowledge of key institutional players, market structure, and evolving competitive share

Analyze competitive and alternative offerings; assess their strengths and weaknesses; contribute to strategies for winning against the competition

Assess relevant technologies used in the industry by customers, competitors, and other related industries

Manage internal stakeholder relationships leading to the success of the business overall

Establish and drive processes for market research on customer trends to inform business and product planning efforts

Build strong understanding of key clinician workflows

 


Required skills:

Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage and simplify large amounts of data in Excel

Ability to frame complex issues and provide supporting data and analytics

Creative and pragmatic thinking to address complex problems

Strong collaboration and relationship building skills

Strong communication skills and experience in comfortably operating and influencing at executive level

Project and time management skills with an ability to set and maintain priorities in a multi-task environment.

 

Qualifications:

2- 5 years in a strategic or commercial role in healthcare. Proven track record in directly supporting revenue growth for a portfolio of products.

Extensive experience in designing, leading, and executing successful commercial strategies in a multinational organization; business development or management consulting experience a plus.

Strong analytical capabilities related to market segmentation, commercial opportunity assessment, and user & competitive analysis.

Entrepreneurial, solution-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
