Position Title- Assistant Manager – Content Creation & Acquisition 


Location- Gurgaon


Purpose of the role


This role is responsible for extensively managing the development & acquisition of analytical content for the Commercial Law & Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Area Modules. The role will support content development and acquisition for newly developed Commercial  Law Practice Area  which will include transitioning authors to continuous update model and  developing content exclusively for online medium  as well.


Duties and Responsibilities

Revenue & Budget

·   Deliver high quality commercially successful Legal Print Titles/project families; on time and under budget.

·   Achieve assigned Revenue Targets (for 2017: USD 950Million)

Managing Content Development

·   Assist Manager in developing customer focused  legal content strategy for  publication in multiple mediums /platform (i.e. print and online) focusing on High Priority Practice Areas

·   Assist Manager to formulate and implement strategy for targeted revenue and number of projects on the Publication Calendar

·   Assist Manager to formulate and implement strategy for targeted revenue and number of projects on the Publication Calendar

·   Assess and map content opportunities, identify emerging content needs and ensure the optimum product mix for a robust publishing program

·  Report potential slippage at earliest opportunity and activate the pipeline

Online Content Strategy

·   Work with content strategists and authors to plan content formats & delivery, organization and content templates.

·   Participate in ongoing content development and enhancement for existing modules for revised, updated and new content.

Author Management

 

·   Negotiate terms and contracts with authors, translators and distributors.

·   Initiate, maintain & expand network of cordial relationships with authors, reviewers, opinion leaders, and sources of relevant information and advice.

·   Build effective relationships with authors to ensure efficient and timely execution of strategic plans.

Lead & Manage Team

·   Train and enable the commissioning function to deliver committed titles.

·   Manage team member(s) and balance workload to achieve publishing targets.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

Education & Experience

·   Degree in Law is necessary

·   Minimum Three years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a publishing or content management environment

Desired Knowledge

·   Understanding of the legal framework and the structure of the courts in the country

·   Familiarity with primary as well as secondary research resources pertaining to Indian law, both in print and electronic

·   Developed computer skills including Word and Excel
