Account Manager Inside Sales ( French Speaking )

Inside Sales Account Manager, Academics & Governments - France
Are you passionate about client interaction? Are you ambitious, proactive and always looking to drive yourself forward, improve your skills? We're looking for a proactive, experienced french speaking Inside Sales Account Manager with a track record in selling information tools, to take ownership of Academic and Government accounts, covering the Southern Europe region. 

You will be responsible for managing, protecting and growing the revenue within a territory of Academic and Government accounts in France (with additional accounts in Spain) through upsell and cross sell actions to existing accounts and engaging with new prospect clients within your territory. You will deliver a high daily frequency of customer interactions using phone, Skype, email and other virtual methods to generate demand, open new accounts and drive overall territory revenue growth.  You will act as the primary strategic account owner towards client and Elsevier stakeholders.  The position is office based as part of our Global Inside Sales Center of Excellence in Amsterdam. 

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and target revenue growth opportunities within an assigned territory and set of accounts
  • Develop and implement a detailed strategic sales plan to demonstrate how to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Identify key contacts and decision makers within a customer organization and develop strong relationships with those contacts to drive additional upsell and cross sell initiatives
  • Collaborate with Solutions Sales Managers and other roles to develop targeted sales plans and manage the execution of these plans
  • Engage with ‘inactive’ accounts within the territory and actively open these accounts to drive additional revenue
  • Own the relationship with the customer and be responsible for the overall health and status of the relationship and the negotiations of contracts 
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Elsevier’s Research Solution suite of products including the ability to articulate competitive differentiators and our value proposition

What you should bring

  • A self-starter with lots of energy and enthusiasm!
  • University degree, BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of proven commercial experience, preferably in a business-to-business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Proven success in negotiating contracts and closing business
  • Proven success in new business prospecting, selling, negotiating and closing skills
  • Strong phone, written communication and online presentation skills including the ability to present to an executive level audience
  • Experience working with research administration and management functions as well as knowledge in regional or national research programs, collaboration networks, and key opinion leaders is desirable
  • Experience in enterprise customer relationship management system is desirable
  • Ability to effectively partner and collaborate across teams
