We're looking for someone like you to take ownership of Academic and Government accounts, covering the DACH region.


As the Inside Account Manager, you are responsible for forging strong relationships with clients and managing the revenue through upsell and cross sell to existing accounts. You also engage with new prospects. By interacting with your clients daily, through phone, Skype and email, you generate demand and drive overall territory revenue growth. You are the primary strategic account owner towards client and Elsevier stakeholders. 


As part of a newly set up Global Inside Sales division, you’ll be joining a team of 10 Inside Account Managers covering clients domiciled in the EMEA region. We are an international, dynamic and passionate team that enjoys interacting with our clients to uncover their needs. Value based selling, coaching and pipeline excellence is how we achieve success. The inside Account Manager works from the Amsterdam office.


What you bring:
  • A University degree, BS/BA or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of proven commercial (b2b) experience
  • Proven success in negotiating contracts and closing business
  • Proven success in new business prospecting, selling, negotiating and closing skills
  • Strong phone, written communication and online presentation skills
  • Experience working with research administration and management functions as well as knowledge in regional or national research programs, collaboration networks is desirable
  • Experience in enterprise customer relationship management system is desirable
