Account Manager Data Services

Purpose of the role:

The Account Manager serves as a salesperson for new business in Data Service Department (Lexis ProcureCheck, Lexis Diligence, Lexis KYC). The AM is expected to find new business leads through different avenues to achieve sales targets, consistently provide excellent customer service to prospective new clients, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. In addition, the AM should build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieve annual/quarterly revenue targets across all product for Data Services
  • Maintain healthy sales pipeline at 3 times the amount of actual target
  • Communicate a value proposition and ROI of proposals. (Customer conversion rate)
  • Sales strategy is that each sales person is responsible for creating their own leads and opportunities

Existing Clients and Business development 

  • Responsible for client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue
  • Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner 
  • Assist with payment and collections.
  • Works closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Aware and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business
  • Communicates the client's goals and represent the client's interests to the team.
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Understanding of company product, capabilities and services, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client. Reports to the Sales Manager, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports on a weekly basis
  • Client training and education

Qualifications and Required Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Degree or Diploma or relating experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Account Management Sales role
  • Strong presentation and research skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS office suite of applications
  • Valid driver’s license
