The Senior Technical Writer position maintains Support Center documentation for the Scopus Tech software development team.  The Scopus Support Center is comprised of FAQ articles translated in American English (primary), Japanese, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, and Russian.

Responsibilities:

Create accurate, thorough documentation in a fast-paced, Agile development environment to support deliverables in the form of online tutorials, help systems, and their localized versions. You must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work effectively both on your own and in support of development teams. You will have the opportunity to create online tutorials using Adobe Captivate.

  • Administer Help systems using Oracle Service Cloud
  • Liaison with external vendor for localization efforts
  • Write and edit deliverables in Global English for non-technical and technical users
  • Gather information from a variety of sources
  • Learn complex, technical products and explain them in clear, concise language
  • Collaborate with internal development teams to learn about and address customer needs related to our product

Experience and Education:

·         5+ years of technical writing experience

·         BS degree in technical writing, communications, or related field

·         Fluent in spoken and written American English

·         Must submit a portfolio of works written in American English

 

Qualifications:

  • Technical writing and editing competencies, knowledge, and skills
  • Skilled at desktop publishing and help authoring systems and software relevant to area as well as relationships between the systems
  • Ability to complete publications adhering to corporate standards, explaining complex technical topics in ways appropriate to technical and non-technical users
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles of structuring information and the documentation and software development processes.
  • Ability to learn new software packages quickly, including advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage workflow and manage multiple concurrent projects with tight deadlines, with minimal supervision
  • Analytical thinking, Organizational awareness, Audience and content analysis, Conceptual thinking, Decision making
  • Expert interviewing and independent research skills
