This role is part of the Elsevier Clinical Solution Sales Operations group and works closely with other members of the BI Reporting & Compensation team. The position is based in Philadelphia and reports to the Senior Manager of BI Reporting & Compensation, also based in Philadelphia.



The Sales Data analyst is responsible for improving the effectiveness of the Clinical Solutions Sales organization by delivering actionable sales insights and reporting to front line sales reps, sales leaders and senior management. The ideal candidate will be someone who can combine strong data analysis and technical skills with a keen business understanding; possessing a high level of curiosity that drives them to investigate raw data and transform it into actional business insights. They will be someone who instinctively looks at a process or business problem, disassembles it and looks for ways in which it can be improved or solved.


Main responsibilities:

· Provide insights on the business about how to meet/overachieve business expectations through in-depth business knowledge and data analysis

· Deliver simple and complex dashboards using the Salesforce.com and Tableau reporting environments

· Acquire an in-depth understanding of business challenges facing internal customers and developing solutions to overcome those challenges

· Drive our Sales organization to be more productive by building and improving key sales tools and train front end users on their effective use increasing the institutional knowledge of the team

· Perform ad hoc analyses as required

 

Our Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree; preferably in accounting, finance, computer science, statistics or a similarly related field

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) required

· Experience with Tableau & Salesforce.com reporting environments required

· SQL & Visual Basic programming skills strongly preferred

· Ability to work independently

· Strong analytical skills with a naturally curious mind set
