Who Are We?

The product team at Via Oncology, an Elsevier Company works to create a shared vision across our organization for short and long-term product priorities. Our goal is to support health institutions in improving patient outcomes and quality of care through our products. Product managers and analysts work closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and engineering teams in the agile process, leading the development of customer-facing and internal products. The team guides new products and enhancements throughout the product development lifecycle, from idea, design, development, release, new product introduction, implementation, and support. Serving customers in the oncology market, product managers and analysts serve as the voice of the customer and the voice of colleagues in the field, working closely with sales, implementation, and customer-experience team members.  Product team members dig deep into problems, asking many questions and finding scalable solutions.

  • Technical Ability: Working knowledge of SQL (specifically Microsoft Transact SQL) and data analysis tools. Experience handwriting code/script such as C#/.Net, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.

  • Associate Agile Product Ownership: Write user stories and assist in the project management of development activities, while being an active participant in the software development process. Familiar with Agile processes (specifically SCRUM and Kanban) and Agile testing. Able to work in fast-paced environment. Able to work with development team in assessing issues. Experience developing software products and writing user stories in an Agile environment.

  • Toolset Understanding: Familiar with bug tracking tools, source control, and analytical toolsets.

  • Basic Testing: Comfortable identifying bugs and handling exploratory testing. Experience with web services and APIs. Experience testing software applications.

  • Requirements Development: For various products, elicit requirements from internal and external stakeholders using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, etc.

  • Business Continuity: Exhibit the ability to fill in for Other Analysts when they are unavailable.

  • Product Discovery & Support: Assist with research, problem exploration, ideation and solution development.  Once product is live, assist in developing demos, training materials, knowledge base articles, etc.

Education Requirements
  • Typically has completed a four-year academic degree including courses in computer programming, software engineering, healthcare science/technology, business/systems/data analysis, or data science OR has acquired software engineering skills and knowledge via practical experience.
  • One year experience in product development or healthcare technology strongly preferred.
