Purpose of the Job:


Collaborate on all aspects and components of the development and maintenance of select oncology pathways through physician disease committees.  Maintain clear documentation of all Pathways decisions and supporting analyses.  Ensure effective and timely communication of all pathways changes to key stakeholders in IT, sales, customers, joint venture partners, etc.  Ensure accuracy and completeness of Pathways content, drug therapy regimens, and other supporting drug information materials.

 

 

Main activities and responsibilities:


• Maintain current knowledge base on industry developments, drug approvals, published trials, etc.
• Participate in periodic webinar meetings for select Pathways disease committees; contribute to the preparation of agendas, minutes, evidence reviews, and other post-meeting materials.
• Support disease committees in the application of Pathway Philosophy & Processes for content development.
• Collaborate with Content Management Team to meet target deadlines for each committee meeting process and timely content updates.
• Respond in a timely and effective manner to all inquiries from customers regarding pathway content or, if unable to answer/resolve, ensure customers are connected to the appropriate resource to resolve their issue or question.
• Review disease pathways metrics with designated Content Analyst and Medical Director and assist with a strategy for improved on-pathway adherence, when necessary.
• Ensure the availability of clinical reference links and supplementary materials within the user interface portal, as appropriate.
• As requested by Elsevier, work with disease committees to develop new pathways for other diseases, modalities of care, or phases of care.
• Help to ensure the alignment of medical and radiation oncology pathways for “referral” hand-offs between the two modalities.
• Perform QA of pathway content builds within the user interface portal to ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and performing QA for supplementary materials (ie regimens, patient education, oral monitoring recommendations).
• Other duties or tasks as assigned.

Functional and Technical Competencies:


• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think through multi-step pathway algorithms
• Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills
• Strong oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office software
• Knowledge of medical terms and drug names, including correct spelling
• Comprehensive understanding of evidence-based medicine
• Motivation to work in a fast-paced environment; must be capable of handling multiple tasks, working efficiently, and meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively on projects

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences (and any other requirements):


• Pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
• BCOP preferred
• At least 5 years of clinical practice in oncology
