Cell Press is on a journey of exciting growth, and is looking for a Group Product Manager to translate the broader business strategy into an actionable digital strategy. The ideal candidate will devise, lead, and grow a data-driven, customer-focused web / platform strategy, that includes development based on key customer journeys, and will be responsible for creating the prioritized development roadmap. 

This person will lead the successful delivery of initiatives to achieve measurable strategic goals. Key responsibility areas will include business case development, ideation of new innovations at all levels, project management, as well as leading innovation pilots and product prototypes. This role will help create a culture of data, metrics, and analytics to inform and grow the business in partnership with key stakeholders. The candidate will leverage data and analytics capabilities to better understand the digital user journey, and deliver insights that inform strategy, including user engagement, customer lifecycle marketing, personalization, and apply a test, learn, change philosophy.   

The ideal candidate will manage a small team, and be able to form strong working relationships with internal and external partners. He or she will communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and will take an innovative, creative approach to problem-solving. The candidate will work closely with colleagues in our editorial, marketing, sales, operations, and management teams, as well as other divisions in Elsevier and external partners.


This is a full-time position, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cell Press offers an attractive salary and benefits package and a stimulating working environment. Translate the broader business strategy into an actionable digital strategy.
Devise, lead, drive and grow a metrics-driven, customer-focused web and platform strategy
Project manage/oversee all aspects of pilots and test and learn initiatives as appropriate to meet goals, budgets and timelines.
Identify efficiencies, opportunities for alignment, and sharing of best practices and expertise across PBG. 
Develop business cases and a plan for development, and project management of new innovations.
Create a culture of data, metrics and analytics to inform, grow and drive the business.
Set measurable goals, create an informed team through dissemination of data. 
Leverage our data and analytics capabilities to better understand the digital user journey and inform product decisions via analytics. 
Manage team of 1 or 2 product/project managers and develop in line with the Elsevier product framework.


Bachelors or Masters degree in business, technology, media/communications, or science/medicine.
8+ years relevant professional experience (at least 5 in product management).
Have released new product or product features to the market, from collaborative conceptualization to execution, and post-release management. 
Strong analytics approach and experience making data-driven decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work with others to modify or maintain a product and identify technology challenges.
Active coaching of others leading to individual and team development.
Experience of hiring people.
A demonstrated comfort level working with various technologies, including XML, web CMS, HTML, CSS, Excel, Tableau, and more.
Excellent English written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
