Purpose of the role:

To assist the product management department in the preparation of software releases by writing documentation and coordinating the software release process. The primary function is to translate functional specifications into user documentation and online help documentation. Additional responsibilities include: monitoring software bug reports and trafficking those reports to the appropriate person for resolution; working with client services to organize the beta release and general release of the software; maintaining the product management section of the corporate wiki.


Primary responsibilities:


Coordinate and create documentation

Develop version documentation: Release Description; Beta Release Notification; Release Notification; and any supplemental materials

Integrate Release documentation into Help system

Maintain and manage Product Management SOPs and corporate Wiki


Organize beta and release rollout with Client Services

Identify beta and early release participants

Coordinate building and upgrading of beta sites

Coordinate feedback process


Traffic customer questions and bug reports that come to Product Management

Coordinate with Systems Analysts on bug fixes and other queries from Client Services

Attend pre and postmortem meetings for hotfixes and communicate relevant issues to Product Management


Manage Customer Feedback

Maintain the future enhancement ideas list

Integrate EMUG and EEMUG feedback

Skills Required:

Demonstrated excellence in writing user documentation (e.g. User Manuals, Training Documentation, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
Must be a results-oriented, self-starter, with strong organizational skills and the flexibility to manage changing business priorities
Experience in the scholarly publishing arena, technical writing, web-design and web-based reporting is extremely beneficial, but not required.
Familiarity with waterfall and agile development processes
