Head of South American Markets/Market Engagement Manager – Sao Paulo


ICIS is significantly developing our position in the South American markets. We are recruiting a petrochemical market expert with a passion for engaging clients, who will develop our South American position in close collaboration with the local Commercial team. This position will be the primary content expert in all our commercial processes in South America, engaging market participants to demonstrate ICIS expertise, create demand for ICIS products and embed ICIS products in customer workflows, identifying and understanding customer needs and opportunities, and providing feedback to further strengthen ICIS’ position in the South American market. This is a highly collaborative position and we are looking for a true team-player and strong communicator.



Job Description

Market Engagement

·         Act as trusted advisor to customers to embed ICIS products in their workflows, creating a strategic relationship  and create demand for further products

·         Build a strong profile for ICIS in the market by attending, presenting at and helping arrange events, working through associations, government representatives and your own network

·         As pre-sales expert, engage senior level users, influencers and decision makers to stimulate demand, demonstrate ICIS expertise and significantly grow account value and customer satisfaction

·         Leverage support from Editorial, Consulting, Product and other ICIS teams to achieve your pre-and post-sales objectives

·         Develop relationships with non-industry market players, e.g. potential partners, M&A targets and exchanges in close collaboration with ICIS Strategy team to drive success in key strategic opportunities


Sales Enablement

·         Based on market knowledge and regular client contact, identify new business opportunities and expand and strengthen existing relationships.

·         Partner with marketing on market-relevant topics and provide relevant content and insight e.g. identifying relevant editorial pieces or generating content such as case studies and market views


Commercial Strategy

·         Develop the commercial strategy for the market area, facilitate execution and monitor performance in collaboration with cross functional team (Marketing, Sales, Editorial, Consulting, Product, Compliance)

·         Together with the sales lead, define, own and ensure execution of revenue objective

·         Identify growth opportunities in the sector and provide feedback to Product, Editorial and Consulting to help develop ICIS products and services




·         Total revenue and pro-actively generated new business revenue in the market area

·         ICIS benchmark status in the area

·         M&A, Partner and Strategic Alliance identification

Depth of ICIS network in the market and in key client organis
