Role:  Business Analyst II – Marketing Automation Squad - RBI, part of RELX Group

Location: Sutton (Surrey)

Purpose of the role: To work with Business Units within RBI to drive forward initiatives related to our Marketing Automation platforms to support the organisations’ strategic objectives for delivering content and capturing data to support revenue growth and retention.


As Business Analyst II, you will be working within a technical development team and you will play a vital role in translating business requirements into well-crafted user stories and acceptance criteria, for the development and testing team to work from. You'll be the link between our technology teams and our internal customers, ensuring the solutions we design and build meet the business needs.


This role will work collaboratively within the Marketing Automation Squad and the broad stroke of your responsibilities as the BA in this squad will be:

  • Requirements elicitation from multiple stakeholders across the business
  • Translation of business requirements into well-crafted, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development and testing teams to work from
  • Updating Jira with user stories, epics, themes
  • ​Ensure solution design meets requirements​
  • Work with testers to define test cases​
  • Define & document non-functional requirements
  • You will also be required to support the product owner to;
    • Act as voice of customer​
    • Refine the backlog
    • Conduct change impact analysis​
    • Write and deliver relevant business case​ documentation where needed
    • Conduct story cost/benefit analysis​
    • Facilitate workshops​
    • Manage stakeholder expectations​
    • Ongoing analysis of relevant tools & technology​
    • Answer queries from development and testing team



  • Experience as a BA working with technical development team(s) across the full SDLC, translating complex business requirements from a broad range of stakeholders into themes, epics and user stories
  • Experience working in Agile development with a proven track record for delivery
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Marketing Automation and Marketing Engagement technologies such as Eloqua, Spredfast, Pathfactory
  • Knowledge of Web Analytics
  • Knowledge of customer experience and customer journey optimisation
