Business Analyst III


   New Providence, NJ



Job Summary

XpertHR seeks a Business Analyst III to join US Development Squad, located in New Providence NJ, and to be a member of wider XpertHR development team. Person selected for this exciting new role will be provided with the opportunity to perform a mixture of hands-on analyses and scrum master responsibilities for the Squad. Additionally, will work directly with US Product Team and will analyze and document requirements from US product roadmap for 2020 and beyond.

Experience and Education

  • 3+ years’ experience working as IT-specific Business Analyst (BA)
  • BS/BA degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience required

  • ISEB-qualified BA holding IIBA CBAP certification preferred

  • Experience as BA working in Agile environment and with development methodologies -Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.


  • Analyze, define and document requirements and business processes

  • Develop systems specifications, process flow and conversion strategies

  • Create technical and functional user documentation

  • Contribute to the development of new tools, processes and solutions to meet desired product needs

  • Follow business processes, protocols and quality standards for development and deployment of complex solutions

  • Gather business requirements and translate them into user stories/functional specifications

  • Identify and document process improvements based on best practice research and analysis of work group data

  • Identify and document functional specifications based on best practice research and analysis of work group data

  • Perform analysis on existing systems and identify solution options and assess for technical and business suitability

  • Work with remote development teams, internal IT and business teams to ensure requirements are being met

  • All other duties as assigned

Technical Skills

  • Skilled at working with various development platforms, tools, and languages

  • Skilled at working with various development methodologies including Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Moderate facilitation skills with specific ability to facilitate workshops

  • Skilled with UML modelling language

  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills that allow for effective communication across all levels of the organization and for effectively writing process documentation and technical specifications required for role.

  • Skilled at performing technology-specific research around software analysis, design etc. software topics  

  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating into user stories and functional specifications

  • Experience working as BA and performing BA responsibilities for complex and/or large technology projects

  • Understand, and ability to operate as, BA, within full software development life cycle (SDLC) capacity

  • Experience as BA working in Agile environment and with development methodologies -Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc

  • Ability to work with minimum guidance
